Turn up, tune in, laugh out loud...

This is pretty much a laugh a minute nudge at good old rock, and us good ol rockers !. It has more or less a complete where's wally line up of semi-hidden stars all over the place, including Dio and the Devil (Grohl), I still can't tell which is Dio and which is the underlord. The Clockwork Orange parody at the beginning is particularly funny. Taken in the right spirit, the whole thing is a giggle.. worth picking if you want an hour and a half of lunacy.

    What utter rubbish!!

Well this movie is totally and utterly rubbish, from start to finish you get the idea that Jack Black and Kyle Gass are on one big ego trip. The language is really bad and uncalled for, right from the opening sequence, f**k is every other word ,don't let the kids get anywhere near it!! OK there are some decent rock tunes on the sound track but that is about it, hence 1 star!!

Childish humour, silly and poor acting and the constant bad language make this one of the poorest movies I have watched so far this year.

Rent the story of metal DVD if you want to watch the TRUE story of how metal began, its way better than this tripe.

    Tedious D

The story of a young boy, who is in to heavy rock, who runs away from home and ends up trying to find the 'Pick of Destiny.' This is not and will never be classed as a fantastic film. It is not that funny either, which makes it a bit worthless in the comedy category. Ok, so it has a certain charm about it, regards the rock side of things, but the story is a bit of a sham and the acting isn't much better. I have given it 2 stars for the music.

    Powerslidingly Good!

Absolutely Fantastic! Any fan of JB and Kyle will love this film. I hate musicals but I can honestly say I would have liked even more songs in this film.

Loved it so much I'm actually gonna buy it- and I'm a total skinflint!

It's brilliant. Rent it, buy it, whatever- just see it!

    Real good fun.

For me, the funniest movie of 2006. I really enjoyed the music and guest appearances. If you don't take it seriously you'll have a great time.

    Young fans beware!

My 10 year old son is a big tenacious D fan so I rented it with him in mind and even though it was rated a 15 I thought how bad could it be? But I have to say there was a hell of a lot of unneccessary swearing in it, which was a shame because I'm sure it will have disappointed a lot of their young fans as it did my son, but apart from the swearing we found it to be a funny film and on the whole enjoyed it as some mindless fun.

In my top 5 worst films....

We switched this off after only 20 minutes. It's terrible and very disappointing as I really like Jack Black. The guys are very talented musically but the plot is just plain awful. It's very slow and quite silly (but not in an amusing way....more of a really irritating way!)

    Not good JB!!!

JB and KG rock, but the plots a bit boring

Quite a funny film, its a bit slow in places but if you like Jack Black when he does his singing you will find it hilarious in places... some of the swearing in the film is brilliant... i know that sounds childish but some of it is really inventive!
