Terminal stupidity, more like it. The second in a brief Hollywood flirtation with skydiving movies — Drop Zone came out in the same year — this big, dumb action thriller exhilarates when airborne, but drags dangerously when on solid ground. Charlie Sheen plays the dogged parachuting instructor investigating the death of a pupil, who gets mixed up with Russian gangsters. It's good to see Nastassja Kinski back on the screen after a long absence but, ever since Hot Shots!, it's hard to take Sheen seriously as an action hero, and the film lacks premier-league baddies.

Nothing to write home about, relatively enjoyable, wouldn't bother watching it again
Terminal Velocity is a fairly good movie, Charlie Sheen performs well and the storyline works, being about a maverick skydiver and a former KGB agent who team up to stop the Russian mafia from stealing gold. Reasonably entertaining.
