Terminal stupidity, more like it. The second in a brief Hollywood flirtation with skydiving movies — Drop Zone came out in the same year — this big, dumb action thriller exhilarates when airborne, but drags dangerously when on solid ground. Charlie Sheen plays the dogged parachuting instructor investigating the death of a pupil, who gets mixed up with Russian gangsters. It's good to see Nastassja Kinski back on the screen after a long absence but, ever since Hot Shots!, it's hard to take Sheen seriously as an action hero, and the film lacks premier-league baddies.
Sheen is a dumb, daredevil sky-diving instructor mixed up with the Russian Mafia and $600m of stolen Soviet gold.... read more on Time Out
"...Resoundingly fun....The filmmakers keep us guessing and enjoying every implausible moment." -- Rating: B+
Nothing to write home about, relatively enjoyable, wouldn't bother watching it again
Terminal Velocity is a fairly good movie, Charlie Sheen performs well and the storyline works, being about a maverick skydiver and a former KGB agent who team up to stop the Russian mafia from stealing gold. Reasonably entertaining.
Not too bad a movie, would not watch it twice though. The action was good but the story line was crap. Charlie Sheen was not at his best. My Husband said it was very good, he loved it so it might be one for the men and not the ladies. So for him it was not a complete waste of time, I have seen worse movies.

One of the best-ever one-liners: 'Pack your bags, we're going on a guilt trip.'
Priceless.
it was okay i wouldnt say it was good
I can't believe this was made as a 'block buster'. It passed the time but I certainly wouldn't rave about it.
Had the feel of 'made for TV'.
i dont see why everyone's slating this film so much, its a good action/thriller with a touch of comedy. as long as you're not expecting an oscar winning performance you should be happy. i really enjoyed it, and its laugh out loud funny in places, charlie sheen's still in Hot Shots mode for some parts. but i liked that

A slick but otherwise ordinary action movie with a preening hero and a few spectacular stunts.
