Arguably the best film of the trilogy. Arnold Schwarzenegger is sublime. In the year 2029, a computer called Skynet is fighting against a human resistance, after having nearly destroyed the rest of humanity in 1997. Skynet has found a way to send some of it's warriors, called Terminators, back in time. This is the story of the Terminator sent to kill the resistance leader in 1995, while he is still a child. The resistance sends a reprogrammed Terminator back to 1995 to protect the young man. The question is, can they survive against the new prototype liquid metal Terminator while preventing the creation of Skynet?

T2 as it is affectionately referred to on merchandising is breathtaking in its apocalyptic vision of the machine vs. human future. The film is accompanied by a powerful score by Brad Fiedal that will have you on the edge of your seat in anticipation. Linda Hamilton?s acting, when she spots Arnie for the first time, is one of those moments that will etch in your mind for a long time.

If you liked T2 you may also like The Terminator, The Matrix, Predator and Dune.

Along with the original Terminator film this rates right up there with the very best films ever made. This time the terminator has been reprogramed in the future by John Connor leader of the resistance and sent back in time to help himself to survive as a young man, from the relentless pursuit of a Terminator upgrade - a shape-shifting cyborg that is virtually indistructable. This time John hasn't just his mother to help protect him, Arnie reprises his role as the Terminator but this time - he's the good guy! Absolutely brilliant! A rarity in itself a sequel as good - if not better than the original. Film-making at its best from director James Cameron!

  • Effects still great but its gets silly towards the end

Sarah Connor now in Mental Institution, her son John is a rebellious youngster, two “Terminators” sent back from the future, both go after John Connor.

Not as good as I remember sequel to the very competent Terminator and although the effects are still very impressive years later it’s the awful dialogue and stupidity of some scenes especially later on that must have passed me by.

To be fair, Arnie is pretty good although there are still a few cringe worthy scenes when he has to actually act but its Linda Hamilton who steals the show with the super fit woman on a mission Sarah Connor.

I also watched the extended version and you can definitely see why the extra scenes were cut as they go on far too long and don’t really add to the film although the Michael Biehn scene was a nice touch.

This is a strong sequel to 'The Terminator', but it isn't quite a good. It attempts to be bigger and better than the original, but I believe that less is more. Plus the original didn't have the annoying kid. Still, there are some excellent set pieces and it is always entertaining!

It is for sure in my top 10 movies of all time, James Cameron along with Chris Nolan as the two best film maker's of this generation.
