[Highly rated reviewer]I've never really invested my time in this cult movie until recently. I rented the remake and it had the same impact Saw did the first time i watched it. It takes films like the recent Wolf Creek to it's limits. I've been to see TCM: The Beginning last night at the cinema in the dead of night and that chainsaw sounds so loud it's awesome. This film goes a long way to explain how it started, and i was hooked from start to finish, even if i was cringing at the gore on screen. I won't give the plot away although generally the theme to film is already established. It certainly helped me point the finger to who provoked the massacre. A great film! Go watch, if you can hack it :-)

Dare to watch?By kas123345 (10 reviews) from London , 02 Jun 2009Having seen all the other Texas Chain Saw films (which terrified me senseless) I had to go and watch this. I cannot describe in any amount of words how gory it is, and how beyond scared I was. Saying that, it is an excellent 'traditional' horror film that is there to shock, so horror fans should definitely watch it. Be warned though, not for the faint hearted or easily scared!
Boring!By babybear85 (10 reviews) from Brighton , 16 May 2009Over Americanised and dull, best bit - 2 hot actors!!! i actually cheered on Leather face.
Texas - a..hemBy a customer from Cupar , 15 May 2009Not a patch on the original - still a worthwhile watch if this is first time viewing
Texas Chainsaw Massacre The BeginningBy entertainmentman (215 reviews) from South Croydon , 11 May 2009''You cannot beat old school horror''
This movie is how horror movies should be made as it built up tension gradually and did not rely on predictable scares. It was graphically gory and not for the squimish as it made me cringe in parts and I have seen a lot of horror movies. The acting was good and anybody who likes the Hills of Eyes will not be disappointed. It just goes to show that you have rely on experienced directors to deliver the goods properly most of the time.
ZZZZZzzzzz (and that's not the chainsaw!)By cagedtony (14 reviews) from Ipswich , 30 Apr 2009Erm, not really sure what to say about this one cant say I really enjoyed it to be honest, just your typical horror flick with the usual frustrations, dont run that way, just shoot him, make sure hes dead yada, yada, yada Good gore content, but basically predictable not sure how close it is to the true story, but I guess in that way it would be somewhat predictable, if thats what really happened...
