Coarse and corny remake in an over-emphatic style.
My son loved this slapstick tale of small town America. Not as much cat action as the title suggested which is disappointing.
I found this film quite silly and entertaining, but the humour is clearly aimed at younger viewers, so not recommended unless you fall into that category.
Christina Ricci is a good choice as the main character. Doug E. Doug never really seems to quite get it together in his role, but this may be a reflection of the film not being sure what it wants to be i.e. very silly or an amusing childrens adventure.
