THAT KIND OF GIRL
By Spongo (1 review) from Houston not Texas , 22 Apr 2010[Highly rated reviewer]
This is not a movie its a 1960,s public information film about STDs. The storyline is ridiculous and to say it is unfathomable is being kind, I still dont know how she contracted syphilis. Dont be under the impression that because it is on bluray it is some chic movie shot in black and white.Avoid and spend 85mins of your life doing something that might be enjoyable.- Was this review helpful to you?

(5)That Kind Of Girl
By Carrington (5 reviews) from newbury, berkshire , 23 Oct 2010Interesting. A film from the 60s that shows it's age and the way we really were then, to some extent. Fascinating to see the locations and sets and the way London has changed. Many things remain the same though and the twin themes of the danger of the H bomb and sexual promiscuity and lack of precation by the young, is quite well and intelligently handled. Good acting too from a cast that were relatively unknown then as now. Perhaps that was deliberate and as a film witha message( for it's time) they were anxious not to have the characters identified with big name stars of the day. Of course neither of the leading young ladies were, really 'that kind of girl,' just unlucky.- Was this review helpful to you?

aka Teenage Tramp
By Bribaba (146 reviews) from London , 16 Sep 2010This unheralded film from Gerry O Haras is, a strange and sometimes preachy mix of the perils of sex outside marriage. English morals and sense of duty are put to the test when a free-spirited Austrian au pair arrives in a London on the verge of change. On the face it shes a blonde bombshell so beloved of the era, though she turns out to be sensitive and intelligent, just a little ahead of her time.
Made in 1963 when moral rearmament co-existed with CND rallies (replete with marchers in big woolly jumpers), its hard to tell if the title is meant ironically. The US release is less equivocal in this regard - the distributors renaming it Teenage Tramp. Either way, its an excellent snapshot of the period.- Was this review helpful to you?

sex education as titalation
By itstinks (681 reviews) from North of Reading , 23 Feb 2010The spread of sexual diseases through unprotected pre-marital sex shown in a slightly titalating manner to maximise prurient interest.Terrible acting and middle class dialogue make this funny by accident. Some interesting extras.- Was this review helpful to you?

Let That Be A Lesson
By FrankIV (506 reviews) from Cirencester, England , 05 Feb 2010This is a very odd film - what begins as a rather stilted account of an Austrian au pair girl and her encounters with men in London turns into a full blown public service vehicle warning of the dangers of contracting sexually transmitted diseases. The initial diagnosis of venereal disease in the girl came as a complete surpise to me because, up to that point, I was unaware that she had had any sexual contact, so coy was the presentation and dialogue. Interesting on lots of levels that have absolutely nothing to do with filmic quality.- Was this review helpful to you?
