Oh what a joy this DVD is. Back to a time when Pundits where playing out at their local park. The commentary was gentle and informative rather than 'clever, clever' and racked with self importance. The action is very watchable and the newsreel style contextualising welcome and enjoyable.

The action centres around Brazil's first World Cup win after years of failed expectation, The elegance of french football and the amazing interplay of Kopa and Fontaine. Holders Germany's stop start campaign to retain the cup and the decline of the mighty Magyars.

In between the action is a familiar style newsreel reportage on Sweden welcoming and embracing the world to a game that was about to explode across the world by virtue of TV and the global appeal of stars like Pele and Garrincha.

One more joy is all the Home nations of UK making it to the finals and Northern Ireland and Wales making it out of the groups to face quarter final opponents.
