Judging from its first half-hour, The Sixth Man could be a touching drama about two brothers with hoop dreams. When the older brother dies, the younger one is lost without him. Lost, that is, until older bro shows up as a ghost with a wacky sense of humour and a drive to win the college basketball championships! Unless you're a huge fan of poltergeist comedy or basketball, this Marlon Wayans vehicle probably won't score too many points. It certainly doesn't go much beyond the obvious gimmick.

    Excellent!!

I can remember renting this out on a whim from my local video store a few years back. I took it home expecting a typical American teen comedy.. maybe that's what it was, I don't know.. but regardless, I still found it utterly hilarious.

Fast-forward a few years and I saw it again on this website and figured I may as well rent it again. I still loved it!

The beginning is pretty boring and slow.. but it builds up the characters nicely. And now looking at it, the end seems cheesy and predictable. But don't be put off.. because the majority of the film is hilarious. I haven't laughed this much in years. So if you're desperate for a really, really, really funny film.. then this one could be for you! The lead actor has now gone on to much bigger things and you can be sure this film has a lot to do with that.
