Sports equipment salesman Jackie Chan becomes the pawn in a hunt for missing phials of ultra-addictive opium in this pedestrian action adventure. Notable for its horrendous dubbing, this is one of Chan's least exciting projects. Though there's no denying his amazing physical abilities, the plot is patchy, the obligatory slapstick inappropriate, and the fight sequences tediously repetitive. In re-editing for a Western market after the post-11 September anthrax scare, the distributor not only changed the story (originally the phials contained a lethal lung cancer virus) but also destroyed the actors' performances with laughable, wooden English voices and corny new dialogue. This detracts from the tale's darker and emotional elements, wasting tragic heroine Vivian Hsu and making Chan seem a total buffoon.
I like Jackie Chan, but this film was not his best. Though the story was there it did not flow. I didn't get the spy bit as there was no spying just a bloke caught up in trouble whilst pursuing his inheritance. There where some good trademark fight scenes, but not enough to make you want to buy it.
if u want to learn some fight..u can watch this movie..there is some quite good stunts in this moviie
this morvie is a typical Jackie Chan movie, with action and comedy. The 'truck on fire' scene reminded me of the movie SPEED !! Good one. I give 5 stars because even in his old days Jackie is still fit, coming up with new moves and kicks. He is a good actor !!
Before watching this film I expected it to be like many of Jackie Chan's previous films with great martial art scences as well as his usual dose of humour and to be honest I was a little disapointed. It was a very good film but it definetly wasn't one of his best.
If you are a hong kong martial arts type fan then you'll probably love this film but while I wouldn't out rule it from my DVD collection I certainly wouldn't pay for it so unless I get it for a gift I won't be owning it.
Anything with Jackie Chan in is guaranteed to have good action and high kicking stunts. The poor dubbing did however let this film down badly but still a great film. The outtakes in the credits at the end of the film are always good for a laugh too.

I have to say this is not one of Chan's best pictues, but its very entertaining, funny, action-packed, on the down side the storyline is a bit predictable. Nonetheless Kids and adults alike will enjoy it!
Got to the first 10 minutes and switched it off as it was dubbed. Very disapppointed as I'm a Jackie Chan fan.
I cannot believe all the reviews I have read they all go on about the dubbing, has anybody thought that this is meant to be part of the plot to the film, it made me laugh as he is actually taking the mickey out of all martial arts films, not all dubbed though, & the fact that he uses his own real name in the film is fun to.
Very entertaining from start to finish with Jackie doing his fabulous stunts using any handy prop available (my favourite is a sheet???).
Yes you do get to see quite a long chase/fight sequence with Jackie Naked it is hysterically funny how he manages to stay mildly modest but not by much, lol.
Great film, a must see for any true Jackie Chan film fan.
Just keep in mind it's all fun & self mickey taking.
Don't take life to seriously, chill 'n' watch the film for a laugh with mates or the family.
If you've ever seen a Jackie Chan movie you'll know what ot expect, plenty of Martial Arts action with props including a naked Jackie Chan, (you have to see it to believe it). It's good fun, doesn't tax the brain and isn't overly long. Recommended for a rainy night.

Jackie Chan returns to the screen in the Accidental Spy for anyone who has seen Chan's US films and been disappointed by them then this is the film for you the film revolves around Chan's character an exercise-equipment salesman who turns out to be the missing son of a Korean double agent who's connected with drug lords in Turkey. Well ok the story line is implausible to say the least but most people don't watch Chan?s films for the storyline.
What this film lacks in story is made up for with wall to wall action ranging from a naked Chan being pursued by henchmen through a Turkish bazaar to a runaway burning truck with all those outrageous fight scenes that Jackie Chan does so well. If you like Jackie Chan?s Hong Kong films then this is for you.
was a pretty decent film, but the really awfull dubing made it really hard to enjoy.
Jackie Chan in yet another masterpiece from the Golden Harvest stable.
I never tire of seeing this man in every possible role from the old period dramas to the current topical cops & robbers scenario. This time it was a reluctant "I don't want to be involved" character who found himself heir to a mystery, adventures and dangerous situations that called for escapes using the ingenuity of defensive martial arts skills that only Jackie can portray in a hilarious fashion.
I would recommend this film but the 12 rating is too low. This should be a 15 to 18 rating due to the violence and drugs depicted in some scenes.
