Preoccupied with images and the way in which we perceive them, Atom Egoyan is one of the most intriguing directors working today. Elias Koteas and Arsinée Khanjian, who play the central characters in this quirky drama, are perhaps the perfect Egoyan couple. He studies accident scenes and photographs to assess insurance claims, while she is a porn film censor. He sleeps with his clients, she secretly records the scenes that she is paid to withhold from the public. Nothing is what it seems in this teasing film, in which the full picture is as likely to emerge in a close-up as it is in a long shot.
