While I initially gave this film a thumbs up because of the sentimental value it held (one of those 'grew up with this' films), I must say that this is a lot darker than I remember.

Not only that, but it's script is extremely witty and clever in it's comedy.

It's almost as if the man, himself, had helped write it.

For a 1986 claymation film, the effects haven't worn thin over time and some of them could even be seen as artistic (Halley's Comet is a spectacular water-colour-come-to-life) forms of life itselt.

All in all, a fantastic and funny film. Kids will love the visuals and the chirpy kids, while the adults will love the script too.
