    [Highly rated reviewer]

Being a huge fan of Guy Pearce I, naturally, wanted to see this film. However, I found myself more drawn towards the performances of the film's other two co-stars. Terence Stamp gives the performance of a lifetime as drag queen Bernadette, and Hugo Weaving (The Matrix's Agent Smith)is equally outstanding. The film follows the adventures, and mis-adventures, of the trio of 'ladies' as they make their way to an engagement halfway across Australia, on their pink bus Priscilla. The film is funny, poignant and compelling, and shows Australian film-making at its best. It certainly has my Stamp of approval.

I'd already seen this twice on TV but couldn't resist another look. Brilliant. Never tire of watching it. Great casting, super music, believable characters and a happy ending. What more could you ask for?

  • Trantastic Tripping!

A great feelgood film, done on a small budget but I was entertained throughout. The special features on the disc are worth watching as well and give you an appreciation of the struggle in getting a movie like this to the big screen.

Terence Stamp, Guy Pearce and Hugo Weaving give great performances and are convincing in their respective roles.

Don't take it too seriously but give it the respect it deserves for the budget and social atmosphere that it had to cope with and you'll soon see why it's one of the great alternative lifestyle films.

Brilliant! Fabulous film! A feel good movie, full of life, light, music, colour and great characters. It's endlessly quotable and really good fun. This is the original and the best drag queen road trip movie, in my opinion.
