Two of the collection

Death of a bureacrat was passable, Adventures of Juan Quin Quin poor. Particuarly poor if you rent it to improve your Spanish as the sound track is not very crisp, and quite a bit of filming does not focus on the person speaking. Also I finally worked out that the timing of the sound and vision wasn't quite together.- Was this review helpful to you?

A Cuban Satire
By ElaineCross (2 reviews) , 02 Feb 2013This film, ' Death of a Beaurocrat', is in black and white and parts of it are side-splittingly funny. It reminds me of Kafka's The Castle where the main character is constantly frustrated by inpenetrable beurocracy. I have read that this director was a supporter of the Revolution and Castro's Cuba but this film seems to be poking fun at one element of it. It is supposed to be implausable and it is but it makes its point. I was amused by it and intend to watch all 7 of the Viva Cuba Collection.- Was this review helpful to you?
