I was pleasantly surprised with this film. Having seen the original John Wayne version a number of times I thought this would an inferior remake. But unlike the original it shows a lot of detail of what led to the siege of the Alamo, the characters were explained in more detail. It also showed the aftermath of the battle and what happened to give Texas it's freedom from Mexico. The battle scenes were very well filmed, and the cast gave a good showing. All in all a very good film.
