The fun of HONEY I SHRUNK THE KIDS with A BUG'S LIFE
A young boy , who is being bullied my an older kid, decides to take it out on some ants, only to find the ants fight back and teach him the error of his ways. Great animation, but not really a well thought out storyline. Yes, I know it wrong to torture any creature, but come on...ANTS, these are probably one of the worst insects in the world, especially the flying type, so who hasn't sprayed them with liquid, or poured hot water over them when there are all over your garden furniture when you are sitting there minding your own business. If this film had been about worms, which actually enhence the earth, or even spiders that eat nasty flying things, like ants, then I could have seen this film in a better light. So anyway, all in all the film was good, animation brillient, like it should be nowdays, but the subject matter was questionable.
I saw this at the cinema the other day with my four year old son. There is action, laughter and a pretty good lesson to learn for anyone at the mercy of bullies. The story line is so imaginative and brings the world of the garden and insects into our world giving a greater perspective of these characters but that it doesn't matter how small you are - together we are all big.
Fantastic. I shall be buying this when it is released on DVD and I suggest you do too. Even if you don't have any children!
One for the kids, you can't go wrong here, my children loved every minute.
I always like a good animated film and I had enjoyed antz and a bug's life so I was looking forward to this. There is enough jokes and slapstick comedy to keep most kids and the more carefree adults entertained. If you like animated movies then give it a try.

A good film for all ages having humour, empathy and escapades.
didnt enjoy the movie as much as the kids did.. since i was running in an out of the room lol... but yea overall kids loved it... looking to buy this on dvd for them soon after i recover from being broke from disney world florida ;p
As a family we found the Ant Bully very entertaining; the film managed to keep the attention of our kids for the whole duration. Plenty of light hearted humour that both the adults and kids can enjoy add to the story which also goes some way to send a message to the kids about considering other points of view.
I try to occasionally rent films for my children, and was pleased that I actually enjoyed watching one!
Highly recommended for kids, has a good moral lesson as well.
Great family film, has a touch of both Antz and Bugs Life in it! Great story that keeps you hooked throughout, defo recommend a rental of it!
If Ant Bully does one thing right, it's show just how well other animated classics have been done - such as Toy Story or Ratatouille - and how easy it is to get it wrong.
To be honest, we didn't even make it past 40 minutes of this dreary and unimaginative animation - perhaps it becomes wonderful in the second half, but I doubt few people will get that far.
It simply fails to engage viewers (especially adults) in the same way that better scripted and wittier offerings from the masters Pixar, or even Disney, do. It's clear the writers are desperately trying for humour with their bizarre and fairly lazily written characters - especially the weird grandma - but miss every time. It's also apparent they're trying the formula of just throwing a bit of everything which has proved popular with kids over the last few years into the pot, in an attempt to strike gold. You get some Harry Potter type magic going on; some Toy Story style playing around with the sense of scale and how 'normal' looks weird from ground level; and some frankly boring rehashes of the 'aren't ants cool' type stuff already done far better in Antz and Bugs Life.
Added to the fact the voice talent, Cage especially, just doesn't seem to mesh with the animation or the characters, the ants themselves are not cute and its difficult to sympathise with any of the characters and you get a sum total of a wasted few hours.
