beel my mother was not a drunk she was potrayed that way and always will be...i found it hard to give the interview, but im glad that i did,as i wanted to get my point across to ppl that my mum wasnt the person my druggie sister made her out to be..she blames her for her wrongs in life but if my mum was that bad me and my brother would be the same and may i add we both live happy lives...- Was this review helpful to you?

(37)The Arbor
By a customer , 13 May 2013I thought the story was portrayed light heartedly by the sketches on the sofa in the playing field outside the estate. This brought home the fact that it was a reenactment and took the true intensity away which helps!- Was this review helpful to you?

A brave and brilliant piece of work - as you may need to be :)
By SJSharrow (11 reviews) , 22 Jan 2013Don't watch this film if you don't like plays, world cinema, documentaries, the South Bank Show...you get my drift. I'd describe this film as a television documentary, the sort of thing you'd get on BBC4 maybe. I found it gripping, and incredibly sad, because I know communities like this one, and because it's unusual for women to write or become successful in this way here. The tension between the family members seemed genuine and was brilliantly portrayed by the lip-synching actors.- Was this review helpful to you?

Farty but not too arty
By Kalina (30 reviews) from London , 18 Mar 2012I found this film quite hard to follow and extremely pretencious. Too many genres thrown in one pot- pretend- like theater, documentary, feature. The acting was quite wooden as well, and some of the characters extremely annoying. Not heart- warming and funny for me. Ended up reading a magazine with the 'noise' running in the background.- Was this review helpful to you?

Real Life Drama at its Best
By Minny (567 reviews) from London , 29 Feb 2012Very poignant and very sad. I loved the film Rita, Bob & Sue Too, it was just so so funny and real. It was fascinated therefore to learn about its writer Andra Dunbar and her family life. The film was sad because she died before her time and was such a talent. I felt for all her family and particularly her children. Her story and that of her family will stay with me for quite a while. She lived in a rough environment and really her kids did not stand much of a chance and those that survived without the alcohol and drugs deserve respect.- Was this review helpful to you?

Hard to get into
By C6hef (1 review) , 19 Dec 2011Didn't grab me, i struggled to get into it and gave up. The documentry style can be hard to follow and the jumping around means you need to concentrate on it.- Was this review helpful to you?
