Good film, Bad disc

This is a cracking little Sci-Fi from the Director who went onto make the excellent Pitch Black, David Twohy.
The film gives Charlie Sheen one of his better roles, and the script is tight and the story entertaining. Ron Silver is excellent as the devious Manager attempting to subvert Sheen's discovery of alien life, and Teri Polo provides welcome eye candy as his long suffering girlfriend - nice ass girl!
However it's a real shame that this Region 2 disc is such crap. It's only Dolby 2.0, and the film has been recropped to 4:3 so you're not seeing what the Director intended.
If you can put up with that it's a great film that is a definite cut above the average sci-fi fare made for this sort of budget.

This movie is great.Low budget,good story,good direction,good script.Get this,awesome acting from Mr Charlie Sheen.If somebody would have thrown a lot of movie making dollars at this it would have been up there with the sci-fi blockbusters but they didn't.What you do get is one hell of a good sci-fi movie made on a small budget.A real surprise......I LOVED IT- Was this review helpful to you?

Not a bad watch
By a customer from Surrey , 30 Apr 2009Quite an entertaining film that takes you on a rollercoaster ride despite occassionally decending into the daft (but hey - isn't the storyline just that?). Sheen irritates from early on, not because he can't act but because of the ridulous over zealous facial expressions he continually pulls. Not a bad twist to the end and some fairly convincing CGI effects too.- Was this review helpful to you?

Boardering B movie, but if your a SciFi freak you'd probably like it

Poor
By Embrace (49 reviews) from Oxford , 06 Feb 2008This film was seriously boring. I just sat there waiting for the action to happen. It had it's moments where I thought it was about to get good and then just nothing... The scorpion scenes were intense though.. I will give it that.
Dont rush to get it.. Unless you wanna be bored or have an afternoon to waste then avoid this film!!!!- Was this review helpful to you?
