Didn't stimulate at all - poor
A man whose dream since childhood was to go into space and who has worked hard studying to become a NASA engineer has to abandon it all to takeover the family farm when his father gives up on his dream and commits suicide. Undaunted, he builds his own space vehicle helped by his family and supportive father-in-law. As soon as the authorities get wind of it, bureaucracy descends upon them from all quarters closely followed by the media and pressure mounts leading him question his motivation and he makes an extreme error of judgement. It is up to his intelligent, supportive wife played by Virginia Madsen, to hold things together and persuade him that 'giving up' is not the message she wants her children to grow up with. One awesome movie with incredible performances. If you have ever pursued a dream, you'll relate to this movie.

I'm not sure why this went straight to DVD (at least in the UK). A perfectly good heart-warming story with Billy Bob Thornton, Viginia Madsen and a cameo from Bruce Willis - it should have been a shoo-in. OK, the premise of the story is a bit ridiculous, but then so was the plot of Field Of Dreams to which this bears some resemblance in style, with the theme of the lone dreamer fighting against the blockheads in authority. Well worth a viewing.
