This is not a 'Screwball comedy' - at least if by that you mean something along the lines of Bringing Up Baby. It's what used to be called a 'sex comedy' in the days when that was a more innocent term than it sounds now. Its origins as a stage play are perhaps a little too obvious, but generally it wears well. Grant's role is one which he could do with his eyes shut; he probably got sick of playing this kind of shallow, witty sophisticate, but as usual he's a pleasure to watch. If anything he's upstaged by the brilliant Irene Dunne, who has fun doing Katherine Hepburn impersonations. Not a classic by any means, and no belly laughs, but still a pleasure to watch.

About the reviewer: thevulture

I'm nearly 80 feet tall, have strips of bacon instead of ears, once lived in an eel, taught Tsar Nicholas III to play bezique, fell in love with a moonshine shepherdess, sandpapered my way out of Alcatraz, have a tattoo of a tattoo, work part-time in a Jesuit brothel, can sing a note - E flat - and so on and so forth. I'm bored now...
