Most helpful review
Good watching, also for the children!
By a customer from Surrey, England , 31 Oct 2006[Highly rated reviewer]
We have used this film in our Home Eduction Curriculum and the children enjoyed watching it, it was a lot easier to watch than to read the book for them. I would recommend this to other home educators and also to schools to use.- Was this review helpful to you?

(29)Titus Andronicus
By LittleGreenMan (10 reviews) , 14 May 2013Titus Andronicus: A sympathetic, intelligent and bloody telling of one of Shakespeares' more challenging, early works. On original broadcast was written up in Fangoria magazine. 'Nough said!- Was this review helpful to you?

Shakespeare's Cymbeline
By a customer from North of Watford , 07 Oct 2010King Cymbeline (Richard Johnson) is miffed when his daughter Imogen (Helen Mirren) marries beneath her station. He banishes the husband from the kingdom and puts Imogen under the wing of her treacherous stepmother (Claire Bloom). From there the plot takes many twists and turns in its duration of nearly 3 hours. Richard Lindsay puts in a fine performance as a baddie. Michael Gough, Patricia Hayes, Marius Goring and Michael Hordern pop up in small parts. The play is not one of Shakespeares greatest hits though, and this 1980s TV version only just held my attention; it seemed dull in parts.- Was this review helpful to you?

The BBC TV Shakespeare Collection
By BobandJune (1 review) from Scotland , 16 Aug 2010We are working our way through Shakespeares plays and thoroughly enjoying them. So far the only one I wouldn't watch again would be Titus Andronicus simply because it is too blodthirsty for us.
We have got as far as Pericles, Cymbeline, Timon of Athens, Titus Andronicus, The Winters Tale, Measure for Measure, The Merry Wives of Windsor, with The Tempest on it's way.
In my view essential as general education and great entertainment.- Was this review helpful to you?
