    [Highly rated reviewer]

this is a bit of a special interest film. If you are into photography then this will appeal to you. if you are not it may be a bit less interesting.

Like most true stories there is not an organised plot but rather a period in the protagonists life, if you are interested in blockbusters probably may not like it much.

if you have a passing interest in photography you will see the life of 4 'conflict photographers', two of which pulitzer prize winners. and a recreation of some iconic images and the conflicts in which they were taken

    I recommend it

title does not do this film justice... an engaging movie focused on true events and real people. A great insight into south africas recent bloody history. powerful stuff, in my view well worth a watch and head and shoulders above the usual hollywood tripe.

Great film, story and imagery, just a joy and a challenging piece to watch. Make time to see this, it's worth it.

I lived in Johannesburg during this time. My work took me frequently into the townships, which circle the city. This film captures some of the brutality of the period but in reality it was much, much worse. The violence was orchestrated by the government who used Inkatha as a front to carry out violent attacks toexploit ethnic differences and divide & rule the african population. As always in these situations it is the poor and vulnerable who come off worse. I know of many awfully sad stories. Some of us felt uncomfortable with what the journalists were doing. It often seemed they were making a living out of the killings. Sometimes the violence seemed to follow them rather than visa versa. I remember many of the incidents portrayed in the film, so can vouch for its authenticity, A good film, well woth watching.

An outstanding film. Very thought provoking and challenging. Hadn't heard about it before which was really surprising. But I rate it very highly and love how it was historic and based on a true story!!
