      Gritty & thought provoking

      Great film - very well acted by Leonardo di Caprio. Gritty and hopefully serving as a realistic picture to put any one off the lure of hard drugs.

    Punk musician and poet Jim Carroll has died following a heart attack. He was 60. Carroll, best known for his memoirs, The Basketball Diaries, which were adapted into a film starring Leonardo DiCaprio in 1995, passed away at his home in New York on Friday (11Sep09). He published his biography in 1978, in which he told of his hellraising youth as a basketball player and a severe drug addict in Manhattan.
