Absolute rubbish! I'm a long time Beatles fan but couldn't watch more than 5 minutes of this dribble and am about to cancel the rental on the Red Album... really listen to everyone and stay clear of this nonsense. I wouldn't give 10p for this on a boot sale- Was this review helpful to you?

Customer Review
By a customer from UK , 23 Jun 2008This is best described as an opportunity wasted. With the wealth of Beatles material available from the period covered by "The Blue Album" it would be hard to imagine anyone being able to put a foot wrong. Sadly, with a skill that can only be described as awesome, that is exactly what the creators of this DVD have managed to achieve. There is a selection of mainly unknown talking heads evaluating the Beatles and their work. It is reasonable to guess that most of the critics missed the Beatles the first time around. None of them could claim to be close contemporaries to the Beatles, or provide relevant insight into the creation of the tracks or the mind set of the composers at the time. One critic (sorry, historian), in particular, appears like some country yokel (with a massive ego) claims, with his nose in the air, that many of the songs were not particularly good songs. I think the makers of the DVD would have done better by just providing the songs, with the film that may have been the contemporary accompanyment or showing a performance by the band. Instead we get interruptions of ANY of the tracks that have been included. Let the music speak for itself. Sadly, if you like or liked the Beatles music, leave this DVD on the shelf. You will only be frustrated by the cheap-looking video (oops, let me start again or the hand pulled close up-pull out shot). So sad!- Was this review helpful to you?

Not what I thought
By TonyC (52 reviews) from dewsbury , 11 Mar 2008when I rented this I was expecting full songs with video footage and I got poeple vaguely connected to The Beatles talking during the songs.
I have to admit being a big Beatles fan it was a bit disappointing.- Was this review helpful to you?

Utter waste of time
By a customer from Rickmansworth , 09 Feb 2008Very blurred videos with music journalists repeating well known stories over the top (some of which were relating to the wrong song).
Don't waste your time.- Was this review helpful to you?

Beatles - Blue Album
By a customer from Hayle , 01 Feb 2008I expected to hear the whole album with shots of the group making it or accompanying videos. Instead we get brief snatches of the wonderful music disrupted by people talking and giving their opinions (as if I care!). The man featured most is a particularly annoying individual. So overall - some interesting bits but mainly disappointed.- Was this review helpful to you?
