In our opinion this film was superbly made and addressed a huge problem in post-bubble Japan; Halcion (Triazolam) abuse.

I'm not entirly sure if the director just played it by ear but it seems that way as there's no real story to follow and the ending could have gone any way. But that's pink for you.

You could read into this film and say it's about 'sexual anxiety' or say it's about the filling that deep void in one's life but I think it's just yet another good film showing the reality of 'what's under the surface' of Japanese society.
