High Five!By Crookshanks (327 reviews) from Newport, Shropshire , 12 Feb 2012
[Highly rated reviewer]I had the pleasure of seeing this film for free with special promotion tickets and disapointed I most certainly wasn't! What a cast and what a great movie! Fantastic storyline full of brilliant actors that you know and love, what more could you ask for? It was heartwarming, made you happy then in the next breath sad, a total rollercoaster of emotions with a memorable script. The only slight flaw was it was a little bit too long, but that said it didn't detract from the greatness of this film . . . go and see it!

Never too old to entertain.By thedoc (16 reviews) from Barrhead , 10 Nov 2013Take a cast of seasoned British actors, provide them with an intelligent script which is heartwarming, funny and with a hint of pathos and you have a surefire winner.
Having previously watched 'Tea With Mussolini' which, coincidentally, also starred Maggie Smith and Judi Dench, I was expecting a similar style of highly entertaining movie and was not disappointed.
In terms of acting Penelope Wilton was outstanding as the unhappy wife for whom I felt little sympathy. A testament to her acting ability - especially when surrounded by such a band of accomplished performers.
I note one reviewer commented that the film was a little too long. I for one was disappointed when it ended - another 30 minutes or more of material of this quality would have been welcome.
Many female actors have, in the past, commented on having difficulty finding good parts after they have reached a certain age. The ladies in this cast have achieved success in every stage of their lives and careers and defied any sexist barriers in doing so.
Most of the cast in continuing with their careers long past what was once considered a suitable age to retire have mirrored what many people in the world outside of stage and cinema are now doing - working into their seventies and eighties. In their case we are the beneficiaries of their careers.
I look forward with relish to the next production from a band of golden oldies.
Well worth watching.By a customer , 23 Oct 2013I did not think I would enjoy this but, I have not stopped recommending it. Fab actors and great story.
wonderful indiaBy a customer , 14 Oct 2013i love this film. it maybe possibly more for older folk I believe it makes one wish this could really happen, and be so nice a variety of characters, keep it spiced, especially penelope wilton, brilliant. if you want to be taken out of self, it ideal.
An Eastern Fawlty TowersBy a customer , 12 Oct 2013It's Fawlty Towers set in India. I couldn't fault this film, the characters and acting are exceptional. I'm not too sure many of the 'retirees' had much acting to do so effortless was the performance made to look. Each have there own different story to bring, problems to share and contribution to make. In parts it made Fawlty look like the Hilton! You'll watch worse films.
Must seeBy a customer , 11 Oct 2013Superb - funny and thoroughly enjoyable with an excellent cast. We were surprised how much we enjoyed it as we had no idea about it. Definitely one to see!!
