superb..........................

this dvd series is superb. The series stars Kaley Cuoco as Penny (she played Billie in Charmed), Johnny Galecki (he played the part of David in Roseanne) as Leonard, Jim Parsons ( he has been in Judging Amy and Ed) as Sheldon, Simon Helberg (he has had guest roles in Reno 911, Studio 60, Sunset Strip, Joey and MAD TV) as Wolowitz and Kunal Nayyar (he has had a guest role on NCIS, and his theatre acting credits include 'Huck and Holden' at the Dahlia Theatre in Los Angeles) as Rajesh Koothrappali.
The series revolves around two physicists, who learn how little they know about life, when a beautiful woman comes into their lives.
Leonard and Sheldon are brilliant physicists, the kind of 'beautiful minds' that understand how the universe works.
But none of that genius helps them interact with people, especially women.
All this begins to change when a free-spirited beauty named Penny moves in next door. Sheldon, Leonard's roommate, is quite content spending his nights playing Klingon Boggle with their socially dysfunctional friends, fellow CalTech scientists Wolowitz and Koothrappali.
However, Leonard sees in Penny a whole new universe of possibilities... including love.

(47)seriously out of date
By touchstone (39 reviews) from darlington , 07 Mar 2013A laughter track, for heavens' sake! I thought they gave those up in the seventies - if that doesn't bother you, fine, but I found it so irritating I gave up after ten minutes.- Was this review helpful to you?

Blinded Me with Laughter
By AuntySocialite (61 reviews) from Llareggub, Cymru , 05 Feb 2013Finally, an American sitcom that is actually *funny* - have seen it on e4 but I'm renting it now so I can pause it and read Mr. Lorre's end-credit 'rants'. From start - and a theme tune that defies you not to sing along (who else shouts out 'We built the pyramids'?) - to finish, an utter joy. Far, far, funnier than 'Fwiends', it's a grown-up, accurate slice of American life minus the usual laminated Ken & Barbie doll clones and Victorian sentimentality that clog Stateside telly. Also, BBT posits the wonderful theory that it's the fringes of society who grow up from bullied freaks in high school to people who actually do something interesting in life. Spot-on and sugar-free. Highly recommended.- Was this review helpful to you?

I now love science
By a customer , 21 Jan 2013Funniest, cleverest and most entertaining show I've ever seen on TV. Just bought the box set for myself. I've only bought two DVD's to keep in 25 years. I watch it over and over and over.- Was this review helpful to you?

Funnier than 'Friends'?
By H-B (1 review) , 13 Nov 2012Brilliant and funny. Easily in line with sit comes like friends, would appeal to the same market.
Dr. Sheldon Cooper alone is easily too funny for me alone and so i had to share him with friends and family.- Was this review helpful to you?
