I am working my way through Luc Besson's work. This is not his finest hour but having seen his later work I appreciate this early effort. The storyline is superficial and Arquette has a performance verging on the banal. Can't even credit her with being 'eye candy' for this film as the backdrop of the Mediterranean is the protagonist. Indeed whoever researched the locations has done a brilliant job. The opening is full of promise but what remains is a long winded story. The ending does not disappoint.
