Costner won Silverado role thanks to The Big Chill snub

Kevin Costner won his big break in Silverado after accepting the news he had been cut from flashback scenes in The Big Chill with grace and understanding. Director Lawrence Kasdan was impressed with the way the young star took the news he wouldn't appear in the 1983 film - and made himself a promise to cast Costner in another movie. Kline & Keaton to play struggling married couple in new Kasdan film

Kevin Kline and Diane Keaton are to play husband and wife in a new movie written and directed by Lawrence Kasdan. The two stars will join Mad Men actress Elisabeth Moss in Darling Companion - a film about a struggling married couple on the hunt for a missing dog. Kline is a favourite of the moviemaker, having appeared in a handful of Kasdan movies such as Silverado, French Kiss and The Big Chill.
