I waited ages for this being released on DVD and it is every bit as good as I remember it. Too often old films just disappoint because you remember them fondly but then they just look dated. Not here. Ian Bannen is very menacing and Billy Connolly is funny. Great to see a young Peter Mullan, with hair, and a young Dougie Henshall. Neeson and Whalley's accents are terrible though. The shots around Coalburn are expertly filmed. Definitely worth another few watchings before it goes back. The star of the show is definitely Bannen. He frowns and he's scary, he smiles and he's scary, even his car is scary! Watch this film now. I'm sure you'll agree.
Not a bad movie, Liam plays a boxer making a living, one to watch
