Clearly this film was never meant to be taken at face value, but as a spoof documentary, it works on a number of levels and whilst not as dire as some have already painted it, it did generate more than a couple of guffaws in expexted (and unexpected) places. An appearance by Drew Carey was a little too short, as his friendship with our hero was never adequately explained. That said, the running Sean Connery gag proved a useful touchstone throughout - undemanding, but rewarding if you take the time to follow the plot. (And no, this isn't clouded by the fact I'm in Scotland)!
