Scary as hell, but weak!!!By Stephen Daniels from Swindon , 06 Dec 2005
[Highly rated reviewer]I am a massive fan of psycho! it is one of my favourite films of all time! so this had a lot to live up to! some people will think i am harsh with my review, however, read the rest of them, they all say what i am about to say and then rate it as five stars???!! that makes no sense!
This is a very tense and sinister film which really ratchets up the tension and is very enjoyable on that level! (possibly 3 stars!) however the film is let down by it's ridiculous storyline - i am refering to the woman pursues man to place she's never been to, after speaking once in a bird shop!!! and then it fails to give a rationale as to why the birds are attacking! it doesn't even try. The ending is abysmal after setting the film up for two hours it then leaves it unfinished! this is poor film making, however the tension and scariness of the film really are good! but i was so let down i consider this to be 2 hours wasted!

How did she run in those shoes?By Bassman71 (696 reviews) from Didsbury, England , 04 Sep 2009'It' girl meets a handsome fella in a pet shop, stalks him & takes some birds to his house in a small town, gets hits by a seagull, meets his sister, odd mother & ex-girlfriend, more bird attacks.
Pretty good thriller with bits of stupidity thrown in here & there. The effects haven't aged that well but for 1963 aren't too bad.
Tippi Hedren is great & looks stunning although I'll never know how she ran in those shoes!
Thought the ending was a bit sudden but I suppose it's left to the imagination.
Also, the Big Train sketch with the 'Working Class' spoilt this a bit for me but in a good way.

Aged FilmBy M1keyboi (43 reviews) from UK , 13 May 2009I think it is fair to say that the special effects in this film have aged badly,. but that is expected as it is 46 years old. Starts off slow and takes a while to get into it. But the eerieness of the situation they find themselves in is truly realised when the crows get involved. It is quite a frightening thought of birds attacking you en mass. Lets itself down with the extremely poor and dissapointing ending.
Great movie if you want the kids to stay indoorsBy a customer from London , 11 May 2009Very good for an old film. Made me want to block up our chimney at home when i first watched it as a kid. Had forgotten how it ended though. Now i know why.... The ending was rather disapointing and seemed to stop in mid air...
