Fantastic Series!

This one gets a full five stars, this is one of the best series about the industrial age I have seen since Saint Dibnah made the series about rebuilding a stream roller.
Guy Martin seems to have no idea how to present a series which just adds to how natural he is on screen, stopping passers by and almost demanding they have the same passion that he has for things and explaining things in a clear and simple way.
The real thing that is endless entertainment is the relationship between Gay and Mavis his sidekick, they are so natural together it is like watching Rosie and Jim if they grew up - the beans on toast episode had me in stitches!
Overall this is one of the best TV series I have seen for years and is certainly worth a few hours of anybody's time!- Was this review helpful to you?

(3)Very disappointing
By frostied (1 review) , 03 Oct 2012Had hoped to see much more about the restoration of the boat itself and not a series of vaguely related mini-stories about how to make items such as soap from animal fat. If your interested in learning how to restore an old canal boat don't bother watching this.- Was this review helpful to you?

one word brilliant
By cheesekake (1283 reviews) from uk , 30 Jun 2012Guy's personality is so infectious you can't help but like this series.
Its an informative series, and just all round brilliant. Comparable to the late great Fred Dibnah.
Anyone who enjoys this will love his film TT: Closer to the Edge as well, even if your not a biker.- Was this review helpful to you?
