Tense chase thriller that provides moderate entertainment, though, after an intriguing opening sequence, its narrative becomes ponderously predictable.
It was really good to see a good old fashioned quality Euro-thriller after watching so many boring US locations on film time after time. Paris provides a great backdrop to the excellent story and action, with Matt Damon doing a fine job in an action role firing guns and kicking ass in superb (albeit speeded up) fight scenes.
Along with a uniformly strong cast this all adds up to one of the better thrillers of recent years.
I know it isn't the same formula as the James Bond movies but that is no bad thing.
xXx was plain stupid, the latest James Bonds are made in a similar vein but this is one action hero that stands apart.
Bourne hurts, bleeds, fears etc and that is the mark of a human being not the all conquering, smarmy, womanising heros we see to date.
You could actually believe that Bourne was a spy and that his ingenius use of various household items to help him along the way were because he was taught the basics in espionage and mortal combat.
I thought this was an excellent film and would recommend highly to action junkies.

Clooney vowed to get his own back on the 39 year old for the prank - and he was given the perfect opportunity when the Damon family visited his... Read more
