Classic Chinese Cinema.
One of those films that you need to watch more than once to take everything in. Beautifully shot, if not a bit dark in some scenes, this tale of love with a supernatural twist also has some great action sequences.
The beautiful Brigitte Lin has never looked better, and Leslie Cheung is once again convincing as the male lead. As fantasy films go this takes some beating. Ronny Yu's direction is spot on, but it is the cinematography that is the real star of this one.
