  • Closer to the book than the previous version, but curiously scrappy and unsatisfactory.

    Awesome classic

I can hardly put into words how amazing this film is.

The story is based around the gold rush in the Klondyke. A pampered & loved german shepherd 'Buck' is stolen from it's cosy home & transported to the snowy wastelands to be a sled dog.

Charlton Heston comes to Bucks rescue on more than one occassion & their relationship grows whilst all around the madness of the gold-rush takes place.

Greed, recklessness, evil, desperation, humanity & the relationship between humans & animals are all brought to the surface in this epic movie.

This movie sends chills up my spine when I think of the haunting tune & the dramatic ending of the movie.

If you love animals, good old fashioned movies or even Charlton Heston, then please, please rent this. You won't be dissapointed.
