    Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant!

    If didn’t see this series when it was shown on TV you missed a real treat. I’d give it six stars, if that was allowed. Disbelief was certainly suspended; for me these weren’t just characters, they were believable as real people. It does what fiction is supposed to do, make the made-up more real than real life. What an insight into English middle class domestic dottiness. Pass the kedgeree! Are such wonderful, awful coves still around? Alas, they are probably a dying breed. I'd say Calipso!

    after reading the book it was a joy to see it come to life in this very good series.
