    [Highly rated reviewer]

This is a first-rate and comprehensive history of British canals and the life on them through more than two and a half centuries. The information is well presented and detailed without losing pace and the views and historical illustrations are very well produced.

Contains loads of info, plenty of interesting photos and clips of old boats and people working them. Could watch this a few times because there is so much to see. Can't make a cup of tea because you'll miss something.

some excellent historic footage, and good narrative from Brian Glover. Not so much on current sitaution or restoration, but one of the best canal DVDs out there. worth a look.

A well-presented and narrated history of the development, growth and demise of the canal system in the UK.

It will appeal to a wide audience, particularly anyone with an interest in our industrial heritage.

Having lived near canals most of my life it was a little boring but would certainly be of interest to those wanting to know.
