So kitsch and so good !
By a customer from Reading, England , 13 Apr 2005[Highly rated reviewer]
This film is probably one of the worst films ever produced on Earth.
That might be why I so like it.
It'over the top from Scene 1 to the end, it looks very old fashioned in any way but still it's one of my favorite disaster movie ever.
If you don't like this kind of film, watch it anyway, at least you will laugh !!- Was this review helpful to you?

(11)Disaster - Not!
By a customer , 12 Jun 2012Nice film. Sophia Loren and Richard Harris lead the film well.
Terrorists and international police try fight it out in a train with the possibility of a global plague if things go completely wrong. Not quite sure who is worse the authorities or the terrorists.
70s glam is very 70s- Was this review helpful to you?

Cassandra Crossing
By NICKJOJO (255 reviews) from Surrey , 18 May 2012Rather dated now and rather improbable but the all star cast tries to keep the interest alive. Any film with Sophia Loren in is very watchable and with a sinister Burt Lancaster and hero Richard Haris its still worth a watch.- Was this review helpful to you?

I enjoyed it!
By Bookrock (38 reviews) from Reading , 10 Apr 2010I know it's not that new and with sophisticated technology like today's films, but as an older person I loved it - a sense of drama, excitement, and a film that was very popular in 2000. Great entertainment, unlike some of today's depressing films. I have seen it before and enjoyed it again.- Was this review helpful to you?

Classic Disaster Movie
By DoctorWho (112 reviews) from Epping , 30 Oct 2009I should make it clear that I didn't see this film by renting it from Love Film.Com, but I liked the film so much, I wanted to review it anyway, and hopefully be of some help to love film and my fellow customers.
This film is very much a product of its day, when disaster movies were all the rage. This particular film is better than most that I have seen of that genre (and I have seen quite a few). It has a stellar cast, it is worth watching just for that.
The cinematography is quite beautiful, and it is plain to see that other more recent films of the genre have paid their homage to this film in terms of the opening sequences.
If you like disaster films, don't be put off by the other bad reviews on here, give the film a chance, it deserves it.- Was this review helpful to you?

All Star Cast Disaster Movie!!
By wikkidsmyle (438 reviews) from Newmarket , 05 Mar 2008This wonderfully kitsch film is as creaky as the bridge over the Cassandra Crossing of the title. A host of famous stars - all with the usual disaster movie hang-ups - gather together on a 'luxury' train with an unwelcome guest in the form of a terrorist carrying a biological weapon of mass destruction. The film was pretty mediocre back in 1976 and age has not improved it. That said, it's fun to watch Ava Gardner and Burt Lancaster ham it up for all its worth and the 'hero double act' of Sophia Loren and Richard Harris. Martin Sheen and OJ Simpson give the old-timers able support - and there's a cute dog too. One for the pizza and beer and nothing else to do brigade...- Was this review helpful to you?
