as with all studio ghibli productions, this film is simply beautiful.
an enchanting tale for all ages of a girl who discovers that there's more to cats than most people think, not only can some of them talk, but they have their own land, king and political strife.
This isn't a review, but for anyone watching this, they should know that the real translation of this title should be 'The Gratitude of the Cat', but it looks like it was badly translated to be Return.
Once you know that, the title actually makes sense.
BRILLIANT FROM START TO FINISH, ME AND MY DAUGHTER WATCHED SPIRITED AWAY AND LOVED IT, SO WHEN WE FOUND OUT THIS WAS BY THE SAME STUDIO WE RENTED, IVE JUST BOUGHT IT NOW TO ADD TO THE COLLECTION, YOU WONT REGRET THIS MOVIE I PROMISE
Its an easy watching film, but is not his best by far. I wouldn't recommend it.

Yet again the Studio Ghibli team managed to enchant us 2 pensioners for a whole evening. It seems that some of the characters in this also feature in an earlier film called 'Whisper of the heart' but I don't think its in DVD format yet.
If you love cats, you'll love this - tho some of the cats are not as nice as they seem!
Excellent all round production.
Nice animation and storyline but there are other more superior Japanese anime movies available, such as Grave of the Fireflies and Spirited Away. Don't get me wrong, the film isn't bad, and my 7 year old daughter who is really into Japanime loved it, but she didn't talk about it much afterwards as it didn't have a lasting impression like other movies of this genre have had on her. It's worth watching though, especially if you are into cats!
Studio Gibhli is synonymous with Miyazaki and his influence is clearly visible in this film. Memories of the cat in 'Whispers of the Heart' come through and the animation is once again imaginative and delightfully old-fashioned. This really is a children's film with none of the complexities of the last three Miyazaki films but cetainly very enjoyable for adults, too. Go on, be yourself and enjoy the movie.
Oh this film is so adorable, you have to watch it. It's been dubbed with english speakers, so you don't have to rely on the subtitles.
Basically a teenage girl (Haru) saves a cat's life. The 'Cat Kingdom' visit Haru and tell her that they are eternally grateful - for she had saved the life of a 'cat prince'. She ends up in a bit of trouble, the cats keep harranguing her with gifts, and more trouble ensues.
Really pretty and heartwarming film (and this is coming from a girl that loves
zombie and slasher films).
Watch it!
Although it doesn't have the fast-paced action present within many of the Manga titles this little gem of a film is still a delight to watch. With its colourful and lovable characters you will find yourself smiling throughout this fun and enjoyable movie.
