Excellent!
By a customer from Northeast England , 02 Apr 2006[Highly rated reviewer]
I remembered enjoying this when it was screened on TV several years ago. It was every bit as good as I remember and better! Excellent acting, well written, beautiful location shooting and music to take your breath away.
Good wholesome family drama.- Was this review helpful to you?

(7)Splendid!
By a customer from W.Midlands , 24 Apr 2009Really enjoyable throughout. The script keeps fairly tightly to the book so no disappointments there and in my view the series hasn't really dated either. If you like Joanna Trollope's books then this is for you.- Was this review helpful to you?

The Choir
By rugosaplants (11 reviews) from Andover , 16 Jul 2008Strong story line, good on romance, politics surrounding a cathedral choir, excellent music. It turned into a tussle between the dean, a property developer, and the head of the cathedral school. Loved it.- Was this review helpful to you?

Excellent Series
By a customer from Cheshire England , 17 Jan 2008I did see some of this t.v. series when it was telivised nealy eighteen years ago,and although I liked it, perhaps I was too busy then to really appreciate its beauty.- Now I really do -the choral music and singing is absoloutly wonderful. The acting of all the characters - really, really, good. But that is what one would expect from James Fox as the Dean, with his rather un Christian manipulation in the eeclesiastical politics of the cathedral , and Jane Asher the 'modern' but much loved wife of the Aldminster Cathedral School's Headmaster..
This adaptation of Joanne Trollope's novel was done with sensitivity, so much so that you felt really concerned as to what was going to happen to the choir. In fact, you has so much sympathy for the characters and just wanted things to go well for all of them, except perhaps for the Dean.!!!! .
Very good series- Was this review helpful to you?
