Couldn't bear watching such a poorly animated feature. Lasted no more than 20 minutes with it. Please remake in live action!

Pitch Black showed so much promise. It was a a Carpenter-esque horror that had the right amount of tension, paranoia and slushy pulp Sci Fi that was a guilty pleasure without making you feel too guilty. This film is no Pitch Black! What sets out to be the beginning of a franchise only serves to hail its death. It is not that it is particularly bad, it isn't; there are some good set pieces. The main problem is, you get the sense that the story is trying to hard. The plot is convoluted while being really hammy. Also its too short. The animation is somewhat distracting, very reminiscent of French produced animations like Phantom 2089 where everyone is too thin and elongated. The sound mixing on the DVD is a little strange and after waiting how many days for your love film to arrive it leaves you with a sour taste in your mouth. You'll end up sitting there thinking 'Man I waited 3 days for this!' If your a big fan of the 'lore' then your going to get it anyway, otherwise look else where! Just watch Pitch Black again and turn all the colour up so it looks like a cartoon.
