White Riot that "has bits in it"
By a customer from London , 29 Nov 2008[Highly rated reviewer]
These 2 DVDs basically combine footage presented in documentaries such as Punk Icons and London Calling - Rock Milestones. You could almost see this as a cash in collecting the footage leftover from elsewhere. The music comes from live TV broadcasts (I guess in order to save money from licensing the actual studio records). You got good comments and observations from people like Don Letts and Terry Chimes (their original drummer), but also some absolutely useless opinios, such as 'journalist' John Robb describing White Riot as a brilliant song, because 'it has little bits in it'. The DVD's have their moments (or should I say bits in it), but unless you are a die hard Clash fan you would want to give this a miss and pick up Don Letts' excellent 'Westway to the World' and Julien Temple's 'Joe Strummer - The Future is Unwritten'.- Was this review helpful to you?

clash or trash ?
By a customer from winsford , 03 Sep 2008This 2 disc set was ok,i think .I cant make my mind up if it worked or not i was a little bored in parts and really intrested in others ,it was edited very roughy on purpose to keep with the punk theme i think.Any fan of the clash should watch it but not sure what you will get from it,it would be a good watch for somebody who is just discovering the clash- Was this review helpful to you?
