    [Highly rated reviewer]

With a little more depth this could have been brilliant.

As it turns out, it's just a decent shooter that is entertaining while it lasts.

Terrible to buy, great to rent.

Right lets make this clear from the start, as a rental and short term game this is good, as a game to buy, well you'd be dissapointed.

Fisrt of all theres no real story here, as for the levels most are set courses with a start and finish with the exception of the levels where you just defend for a certain time limit. The game has an unreal tornament feel to it like when you shoot someone in the head a voice calls out 'HEADSHOT' etc.... There are combos and different ways of despatching your foes like rolling the shooting, rico-slay, head shot heaven etc... These are all fun to pull of and give you higher scores like stringing together kills to make combos. The game is third person like in Gears of War but lets not kid ourselves its a running and shooting game with no real skill or strategy needed to play, point, shoot, run and you got it.

Graphics are ok as well not brilliant but not bad either. There are 6 characters to choose from and 2 more to unlock, although they all have different stats I found they all play the exact same. The achievements are not too hard to get if you do all 8 tornaments with all 8 chacters on easy you'll end up with over 400pts that includes some easy achievements to get during the levels as well. You can add another load of achievements on insane but I could not be bothered. There is also quite a few onling achievements but no-one seems to be playing it and I could not get a game.

Well worth a rent, play for 2 days then send it back. 6 out of 10.

Quite possibly 1 of the most boring and basic games i have ever played. there was no story line to it and it was genarally really dull. On the other hand it did have a few fun levels and the the shooting was all right but i still believe it could have been made better with some sort of storyline!!!

I'd heard The Club was a terrible game, but I have a rule; I give every game a go, regardless of what certain professional gaem reviewers have said about it. Usually, I'm pleasantly surprised and conclude that maybe thr pros were a little harsh. not so, in this case.

The Club is fun for about 10 mins. Actually, no, it's playable for about 10 mins. Then you realise that the entire game is based around running about, pumping round after meaningless round into identikit enemies with the AI of a potato and trying to win 'intense challenges' for some unknown reason. THe cast of characters are as conveluted as they come, with names like Finn and Seager being attached to people that either look like rejected characters from a John Woo movie or actual characters from a cheap sci-fi movie. This motely crew is 'The Club', some sort of summer camp for lunatics which involves lots of shooting and dive-rolling around bland locations to some end. Events range from 'Kill Everything' to 'Kill Everything and Get To The End Before The Time Runs Out'. Weapons are boring and badly implemented. There is no story to speak of, and the game has obviously been created with multiplayer in mind. Due to the tepid reception by the big name mags and the limited nature of The Clubs fun, in half an hour i found just one person to play with, and he was so good at the game that my fledgling efforts were in vain. And frankly, I had no motivation to get any better. The events are so limited and the enemies so boring that after a very short while, when the game gets harder, you're left thinking you'd rather play a better game. Why play this when you could play Gears of War, Call of Duty or even Saints Row? Better games, made better, and they even have STORIES!

A bland effort from the geniuses behind Project Gotham Racing. Where it all went wrong is anyones guess, but it's safe to say they should stick to racers. The Club is not even worth a rent.
