Country cousins have been showing up city slickers since the earliest days of the movies, but this comedy western has to be one of the worst variations on the hicks-from-the-sticks theme. Woody Harrelson, with a gleeful disregard for restraint, whoops and hollers his way through the picture, as he and rodeo partner Kiefer Sutherland stalk the Big Apple in search of their Mexican buddy's kidnapped daughter. In Harrelson's defence, he does at least try to make something out of Bill Wittliff's hugely derivative script and there's also a neat turn from Ernie Hudson as a cowboy crazy cop, but as a whole it's rather coarse and clumsy.

  • Smug and unlikeable lead performances sink this comedy from the start, though it would have sunk anyway, whoever had played the roles.

    Too coarse and clumsy

Borrowed this as we have had a string of very enjoyable cowboy films.

However, this seemed to be too concerned witth violence, boobs and bums. The Radio Times review says all.

Stopped it after about 10 minutes.

    Average!

I remember seeing the trailer for this movie years ago and thought that it would be a good movie but it never got a cinema release and just disappeared.

Years later I final watch it and I relised why. Its an average story that has been done so many times before with some nice scenes but the characters aren't great and the bad guy is not believable. Woody puts on the better performance than Kriefer.
