Is it a good movie? Yes!
By a customer from Brighton , 20 May 2006[Highly rated reviewer]
Get beyond the hype, sit back and enjoy a good story, a few scares and some good twists.
There isn't a dull moment. My only negative would be that the book makes the lead characters a bit more personable - Hanks is a bit too plastic and the chemistry between him and Tautou is non existent.

Book? What Book?
By WongOrWhite (101 reviews) , 12 May 2012I could say the usual stuff as 'it's not as good as the book' blah blah...(to be fair, it's isn't but it never is, is it?) but as a film in it's own right, it's definitely intriguing and certainly worth a watch...yes, you can't help but pick out bits they've missed from the book or parts they've protrayed in a slightly different way but if you try to forget about all that, all in all, it becomes quite a good murder mystery...one of those films you'll probably watch eventually and in my own opinion, better than it's sequel, Angels and Demons...- Was this review helpful to you?

Hanks is on top form
By rachaelknight16 (108 reviews) from Derbyshire, England , 04 Mar 2012A brilliant film as you would expect, however I will have to watch it twice to hopefully expand on my understanding on what the heck is going on!
Can see why this caused a stir with christian's. It hasn't changed my views at all, but a thrilling watch.- Was this review helpful to you?

Carry on Leonardo!
By Durrant102 (11 reviews) from Essex , 16 Dec 2011This has to be one of the worse films ever made. Despite some top stars and a respected director this film is wooden, boring and makes about as much sence as a Muppet movie. A few points: Tom Hanks doesn't act; he sleep-walks. Tom runs from Paris to London to New York and all points west without sleeping, eating, taking a shower or going to the loo. The mad-monk who loves pain is about as scary as a plate of corn-flakes. Perhaps it should be re-titled as Carry on Leonardo.
Perhaps the worst is the 'puzzle' which no-one has been able to open for 1500 years. Despite the fact that he is a prisoner on a plane and then chased through London Tom still manages to 'secretly' open the case, using a code of a dozen numbers - without anyone seeing him do it.- Was this review helpful to you?
