Very limited indeed

I watched this film without ever having heard of it at all and was drawn in by the creds of its director, plus the Wilson brother combo, whose eccentricity I normally find mildly entertaining.
This film, on the other hand, drags on, and on, and on. In fact, it's as slow as the train depicted in the impoverished storyline. Sadly, the whimsical attempts at creating an arthouse film are not enough to hold it all together either.
This film is dull and tries far too hard to be clever in an understated manner. It's just plain boring, and also happens to make India and its people look like a bunch of backward idiots.- Was this review helpful to you?

Although this is recognisable Wes Anderson fodder, its superbly filmed and has a sumptuous feel about it that seems completely at odds with the depressing subject matter.
