Same Structure As Independence DayBy Goldenboots (53 reviews) from East Grinstead, England , 09 Jun 2004
[Highly rated reviewer]This was very similar in structure to his previous blockbuster Independence Day. As in that film, all the main characters were introduced in episodic form in the first half hour, then the catastrophe happened, then came the anti climatically end play. The first half of the film when the global warming and the new ice age started were of a high standard, the second half (The rescue) pretty mundane and predictable. OK for a summer blockbuster, but after all the hype, I had expected something better.

GreatBy a customer from Bristol , 03 Feb 2009Global warming has caused the ice caps to melt disrupting the north atlantic current which causes a super storm and freak weather conditions that will wipe out most of the northern hemisphere.
This was great. Fast paced, action packed and all based around something that we can all relate to and imagine happening one day. Lots of true facts make the plot interesting and believable. Good casting and convincing acting keep you hooked and invested in the characteres from start to finish. Dennis Quiad is fab and gels the whole thing together although he is looking a bit crusty and there is a lack of eye candy for the girls but other than that a great film with real impact and compelling message that may just cause you to switch off a few lights or turn your telly off of stand by.
Worth ViewingBy a customer from Penicuik , 09 Dec 2008Takes a very good look at science and the effects of climate change. A well thought out movie.

THIS REVIEW CONTAINS SPOILERS Show review anywayHideThe day after Tomorrow may not be everyones cup of tea with it's totally blown out of proportion weather scenes, and the fact that the main disasters just happen to hit all of the main cities in the world but nowhere else is even shown. I mean tornadoes in L.A what ? At that point you just think there are like a hundred tornadoes in the city and yet a news reporter is standing about ten feet away from one ! Ok and after looking at other reviews yes the CGI are a bit iffy but it still makes you think if one day this really could happen. More Hollywood blockbuster scenes than real science but it would be really boring if people werent getting washed away by 100 ft tidal waves in new york. Good movie overall - the special effects and unbelivable weather.
TerribleBy a customer from England , 10 Jul 2008This film is the biggest load of rubbish from the world of disaster films since twister!
I have never been a fan of natural disaster films, mainly because they are grossly unrealistic and their storylines are poor (twister, volcano, dantes peak)
This film takes the biscuit! From the first minute to last I was bored out of my mind. I would have walked out of the cinema but I was in the middle of Kansas and didnt know the way back to the hotel!
The tornadoes were clearly the creation by the same team who did the Independence day effects, the building exploded exactly the same way as the buildings in New York, which is so unrealistic it was laughable.
From there the storyline gets weaker and weaker...the worst part for me was the hurricane like systems which froze everything.....erm what?! The wolves were completely pointless in the story, and there is the stereotypical problem of someone needing immediate medical attention.....blah blah blah.
Everything is wrong in this film. The most ridiculous thing about this film for me was that it was created to show the effects of global warming....tosh! The media ran with it saying 'Day after tomorrow could happen' give me a break!
Dont watch it, its not worth it.
