A somewhat confused western, this can't seem to make up its mind whether it's a comedy romp or a more serious revenge tale. It doesn't help that its young stars — Linda Fiorentino, Craig Sheffer, Frank Whaley — are less than convincing in western garb, playing a mismatched trio thrown into a life of crime. However, Sam Elliott, as the vengeful lawman on their trail, provides some much needed, gritty authenticity.
Decent story, good acting, well paced modern western
My assesment of a good film is how infrequnetly I look at the clock. With this film I found I was checking the clock all to frequently wondering how much longer it would be before it ended.
I found the actors hard to accept as credible in their respective roles with the final scenes of the film all to predicatable.
This is not a film I would recommend to a friend unless they wished to watch every second of their clock move round. And it is not a film I would wish to see again.
