I cant work out what exactly went wrong here. It directed ok, the acting is ok. But it lacks any chemistry or fizzle. the plot is very good for what should be a historical/political romp. the english civil war is very under used in this genre. However, the script really lets down the plot. The story lacks any tension, and toward the end you just want the whole thing to end. I really wanted to like this,so i was very upset that the execution was so poor.
Kept me wanting to see more. There was a lot of politics and mumbo jumbo in it but if you can suffer through that easily then this is worth a watch. John Sim is brilliant as per usual and I did feel my heart break ever so slightly when it ended!
